Ok so I know some people are very precise with their record keeping and lineages and may want this information. The history on this is, I was looking to diversify genetics and bought some animals labeled as Kzn Red Albino from Bushveld reptiles a while ago. This was back before they started labeling how much blood quantum of red their animals have. So I don't know how much red they would claim they were, but anyway, I raised them to adults and they just weren't even close to the amount of red color my own line is, so I decided I wasn't going to use them for that project.
Since they were pretty close to indistinguishable from my other single gene t- albinos, I figured I'd sell their offspring as just t-albino since that's all I truly know for sure that they are, and they've been priced accordingly.
To be clear, its not that I think bushveld misrepresented their parents. They weren't advertised as being a percentage of red blood capable of being a red color. The amount of red wasn't advertised at all. Since kzn red is a locality, some may feel that any amount of its lineage would warrant that label. I don't have any reason to believe they have zero red lineage. I simply made an assumption about the common understanding of what that label meant, which may not have been the same as their understanding of it. Miscommunication is definitely not the same thing as misrepresentation. It was my responsibility to understand what I was purchasing, so that's on me. They are beautiful animals regardless.
Long story short, they just are not visually red enough for me to be comfortable labeling them as "Kzn Red Albino" when I don't know the blood quantum, and they dont look like the others of known quantity that I have made myself.
